Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 24 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Mapeezy Tracking and Telematics (OPC) Private Limited ("Mapeezy", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use our website (mapeezy.com), the Mapeezy Tracking mobile app, our web tracking portal, and the GPS trackers and dashcams we supply (together, the "Services"). It is written to meet the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and their rules.
1. Who we are
Mapeezy Tracking and Telematics (OPC) Private Limited, CIN U46909AP2026OPC124861, 6-4-3, Drivers Colony, LBS Nagar, Gajuwaka, Visakhapatnam 530026, Andhra Pradesh, India. We are the data fiduciary for the personal data described here. Contact: admin@mapeezy.com.
2. Information we collect
Account information. Your name, email address, phone number, company or fleet name, and login credentials (passwords are stored only as one-way hashes). If a reseller or fleet administrator creates your account, they provide these details to us.
Vehicle and device data. Data sent by the GPS trackers and dashcams installed in your vehicles: location (latitude and longitude), speed, direction, date and time, ignition and engine status, battery and power status, alarms and sensor readings (for example fuel, door or temperature), and device identifiers such as the device IMEI and SIM number. This location data describes the vehicle, but it can reveal where its driver or occupants are.
Vehicle details and documents. Vehicle registration number, make, model and any documents or photos you upload, such as registration papers.
Dashcam video and audio. Where a dashcam is installed, live video you choose to view, recorded footage stored on the device or our servers, and audio when you use the in-app intercom to talk to the vehicle.
App permissions. The mobile app asks for camera access (to photograph vehicle documents), microphone access (only while you use the dashcam intercom) and notification permission (for alerts). It does not read your phone's own location. Documents you pick from your gallery are chosen through Android's system photo picker; the app does not access the rest of your photos.
Technical data. A push-notification token for your device, app version, device model, IP address, and logs of logins and actions such as commands sent to a vehicle.
Orders. When you buy on mapeezy.com: your name, shipping and billing address, phone number and order details. Payments are handled by our payment gateway partners; we do not receive or store your full card, UPI PIN or bank login details.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the Services: show live location, trip history and replay, reports, dashcam video, and to send commands you request to your devices.
- To send alerts and notifications you have set up, such as ignition, overspeed or power-cut alerts.
- To create and manage your account, verify your identity and keep the Services secure.
- To process orders, installations, renewals and support requests.
- To diagnose faults, maintain and improve the Services.
- To comply with the law and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Who we share it with
- People on your account. The account owner and any users or sub-users they give access to can see the vehicles and data on that account.
- Your reseller or dealer. If you bought through an authorised Mapeezy reseller, they can see the accounts and devices they manage in order to install, support and renew them.
- Location share links. If you create a share link for a vehicle, anyone with that link can see the vehicle's live location until the link expires or you revoke it.
- Service providers who process data for us under contract: Google Cloud (hosting, in India), Google Maps (map display and address lookup), Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications), payment gateways, and mobile network operators (for device SIM connectivity).
- Authorities where required by law, court order or a lawful government request.
5. How long we keep it
- Vehicle location and device data stays available in the app for 30 days (or the period configured for your account). After that it is removed from the live system and moved to secured archive storage, where it is kept only as long as needed for support, dispute resolution or legal obligations.
- Account information is kept while your account is active, and deleted or anonymised after you ask us to delete your account (see section 8), except where we must keep it by law.
- Order and invoice records are kept for the period required by tax and accounting laws.
6. How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) between the app, the website and our servers. Access is limited by account permissions, passwords are hashed, and our servers are hosted on Google Cloud with restricted administrative access. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable security practices and procedures to protect your data, and we will notify affected users and authorities of a personal data breach as the law requires.
7. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have the right to:
- get a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is used;
- correct, complete or update your personal data;
- have your personal data erased, subject to legal retention requirements;
- withdraw consent you have given, which may stop some Services from working;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights for you in case of death or incapacity; and
- raise a grievance with us, and then with the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these rights, email admin@mapeezy.com.
8. Deleting your account
You can ask us to delete your account and its personal data at any time. See mapeezy.com/delete-account for how.
9. Children
The Services are meant for vehicle owners and businesses and are not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
